About six months ago, I bought some trade paper backs of some comics I like. Read a few, loved the stories, but decided I would rather read digital instead.
Those are in my shop now at a discounted price… Hint hint!
Then I bought a couple Humble Bundles which were loaded with comics. And I’ve got them all loaded on my Kindle Fire 8 (plus others I’ve acquired) and I’m slowly reading through them in the ComiCat app.
Some of them really surprised me how much I enjoyed them. Bitch Planet? Chew? Chester 5000? I’ve loved every minute! Lumberjanes took a little bit but it really grew on me. Mine! was a fantastic collection of stories from all sorts of people. It’s sales benefit Planned Parenthood and believe it I bought it the day it released.
I’m still reading Chew which has quite a few issues I need to get, but after I read the next few tonight, I’m planning on reading Bingo Love, a story about two women of color who fall in love at church bingo, but go on to marry, have kids, and live a full life only to be brought back together again in old age. I’m super excited about that one!
This month saw my book of the month delivery to come a bit earlier than I expected. My official selection is Future Home of the Living God by Louise Erdrich, and I made a bonus selection of Eat Only When You’re Hungry by Lindsay Hunter.
I’m looking forward to reading these, but first I need to finish up The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood and I have a few graphic novels still to read too, Paper Girls vol 2, and Rat Queens vol 1.
Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance, plus bonus mini coloring book and colored pencils. I’m excited to start reading this one!
In this warm debut novel, Ruth Emmie Lang teaches us about adventure and love in a beautifully written story full of nature and wonder. Orphaned, raised by wolves, and the proud owner of a horned pig named Merlin, Weylyn Grey knew he wasn’t like other people. But when he single-handedly stopped that tornado on a stormy Christmas day in Oklahoma, he realized just how different he actually was.
I popped by Horizon Comics yesterday and I picked these up. I’m looking forward to reading them, and soon picking up vol. 3 of Paper Girls.
Today I got all summered up in my flamingo dress, lobster earrings, and flowers in my hair. I thought about adding a summery hat too but decided that was enough.
My first stop was CVS, where I picked up a lip brush, this cleanser, and an Rx. This stuff is great! I’m already in love with their moisturizer which I use almost daily, and when I got home, I washed my face with it and my make-up just rinsed right away.
Before I came home though I did some window shopping at Guitar Center (where I saw almost my perfect dream bass for $700+) and almost came home with a new Luna uke. She has the sweetest voice.
I also went to see Stephanie at Hottie Body and we finally did my triangle piercing. It was agonizing. And amazing. I didn’t know if I was going to cry or cum. Like Jesus fucking Christ wow. So intense. I can’t wait for it to heal up a bit and I can take it for a test drive.
After that was done, I went to therapy, which went well. We talked about my need to control things and how that translates to me modifying my body, and my fearfulness of men I don’t know well.
That was pretty much the end of my day. I went home, had something to eat, and I’m hoping to get some better sleep tonight than I did last night. I did get my 14g to 12g taper in the mail today and I stretched my nipple piercings to 12g. Eventually I want to bring them up to 10g.
