Uniforms and Capsule Wardrobes

A couple years ago, I came across the idea of having a daily uniform based on a small wardrobe. This idea really, really appealed to me because the idea of not needing to think about what you might wear most days and having some favorite basics that you pretty much live in just sounds really nice.

I’m not sure if I mentioned it in my last couple posts, but I recently started buying clothes so I actually have something to wear. I had almost no wearable clothing before I started, and now, once the last of stuff arrives, I’ll have enough for about two weeks of wearing. But there’s not a lot of variety in what I bought, which makes me pretty happy.

I bought three of these shells in different colors. I bought four of the skirt I really liked. I bought three pairs of the same jeans, two the same color. Almost everything I bought falls into the same couple of colors – black, navy, pink, teal, and there’s a little green tossed in.

I ordered new shoes after my (6 year old) Skechers started falling apart. One pair I need to send back and try a different size, but I bought shoes that are comfortable, practical, and easy to match with the clothing I bought.

I also bought essential stuff, like bras and panties, none of which are very fun, but as long as they do their job, that’s okay. Oh. I bought a bikini top too. I don’t have any bottoms but maybe soon they’ll go on sale.
